Senior Cubs

We have our team pictures taken this Saturday at 1:10 pm at Metcalf Park.

I have posted the regular season schedule to our documents page. It runs till May 25, we are working with Centennial Denver to add more week end games and some travel to Denver will be required. When that schedule is out I will let everyone know.

Welcome to the 2012 Fountain Valley Baseball Season, on this website you will find information and a calendar that will provide information on our practices and playing schedule with maps. You will find this site very useful and should check it regularly in order to stay informed on what is happening and any updates that my need to be posted.  

My name is Carl Benda and I am the manager of the Cubs this season Scott Lee and Rick Molina are our Coaches. We have been involved with the Fountain Valley Baseball Association (FVBA) for several years and have Coached in all levels of play in the League.

I have a very simple philosophy/approach to baseball and that is to teach. Teach the basics, learn new techniques and to practice what we learn. Baseball should be "fun" and part of making it fun is to minimize the amount of time standing around. In order to do that I like to breakdown the players into smaller groups. This allows us to work on one part of the game at each practice station. The only problem with doing this, is that I can't be everywhere at the same time. This is where I need your help, we need volunteers that are willing to help with practices and during games. If you are interested in helping please let me know. Without your help we will struggle though the season and that won't be very fun for anyone. So please volunteer and help make this a fun and successful season. 

Positions that need to be filled:

Score Board Keeper (REQUIRED)

Score Book Keeper (REQUIRED)

Concession Stand Workers (REQUIRED)

Even if you have never worked any of the above positions, it doesn't matter the League and I can teach you what to do. None of them are hard, and you will enjoy learning them and teaching others. 

Making this a successful team/year will be your level of involvement. We only have a few years left with our children before they are grown and gone and the best way of spending time with them is by being involved.
